Hello Friends. Life in the Fish home is quite active these days. Audrey finished basketball season and has moved right into soccer season. It was a lot of fun watching her play basketball for the first time. I saw real potential and skill on the court, but more importantly, I saw her character developed. Audrey’s coaches were two very special young ladies who genuinely loved these girls and taught them well. I was especially encouraged by the way they called out leadership in my daughter. We all hope Audrey will have more opportunity to play this sport.
Our days recently at YWAM have been full. Psalm 96:3 has been a bright light for our path over the past couple of months ~ “Publish his glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does.” I’m really thankful for God’s Word. It gives needed light to our path. We are using social media airwaves as a platform to TELL EVERYONE the AMAZING THINGS GOD DOES! At times, I’ve struggled with the whole marketing thing, but God has really helped me see that what we’re doing is hugely significant. This is bigger than even YWAM Tyler. Yes, we want people of all ages to come here and participate in our schools and experience renewal in their lives, but ultimately it’s all for Jesus, and I want the world to know about Jesus! Kathie Lee recently said something very profound in an interview after Rev. Billy Graham passed away. She said, If you had the cure for cancer, would you keep it quiet, or would you hold it and keep it a secret? . . . I have the cure for the malignancy of the soul – and He has a name – and it’s Jesus.” AMEN!
As I’ve worked on blogs, putting together testimonies of people from our campus, I’m so encouraged at the faithfulness of God. He’s a good Father and His miracle working ways never cease to amaze me. Below are three different blogs I posted over the last two weeks. If you want to be encouraged and hear how God is at work in people’s lives (including my own), please read them. God is so good.
Much of my day may be filled with blogging and marketing, but the real joys come when I’m in a one-on-one conversation with one of the young ladies in our office, or we’re having the team into our home for small group. We are walking though the video series called Godspeed with our DTS Student Mobilization staff. We’re being challenged to slow down and pay attention to our surroundings, the people in our midst, and God Almighty within us. It’s really so good. If you’ve not watched the movie, I encourage you to do so! It’s only 30 minutes long and well worth every minute. (Watch Here)
This weekend we’ve had the joy of having a family friend, Tristin, visiting with us from NC. He’s been Audrey’s best friend for years. The miles haven’t changed their friendship in the least. Both have been intentional in reaching out to each other, and it’s a joy to see them grow up together.
Next Saturday (3/10), Lord willing we’ll be traveling to see our parents in South Carolina. We’re thrilled for the time to connect with our dear loved ones. We’re also very excited to reconnect with Emily. She’s finishing up her junior year at WCU, and it’ll be so wonderful to have some time with her. Then last but definitely not least, we’ll be with our Vine friends, our church family in Waynesville NC, on Sunday (3/18). We will only have a week on the East Coast, which is definitely not enough time, but we’re thankful for what we have and for each person we’ll get to hug! Please pray for us as we travel.
Audrey recently wrote a poem I wanted to share with you all. I love to see her writing! She’s gifted in this area. I especially love to hear her perspective. She sharpens me. I know you’ll love what she wrote. 🙂
We love you dear friends. Thank you for PARTNERING WITH US in ministry. You’re all awesome!!!
Amy

Perhaps
We could be a little
Kinder
To the old man on the street
Perhaps
We could be a little
Kinder
To the little orphan girl
Perhaps
We could be a little
Kinder
And give up a bus seat
Perhaps
We could be a little
Kinder
And avoid a quarrel
Perhaps
We could be a little
Smarter
And be a little kinder.
Can’t wait to see you… and yours!!! Hugs await!!! ❤️
