Thanksgiving week is here, and our hearts are full thinking about the next few days we will get to spend with our family. Living hours away has its challenges, so we really cherish every moment we get with our loved ones. Momma and Steve arrived yesterday, and we get four fun-filled days with them. So thankful. Always a joy when people come to visit us 🙂
This past weekend, we celebrated another group of students graduating from schools at YWAM Tyler. Over the last five months, I staffed the School of Evangelism and had the privilege of walking closely with three lovely ladies. I had quite the cultural mix, with one being from Norway, another from Australia, and the third being Texan.
We weekly gathered around a little two-seater table to share all God was doing in our lives during the week. I’d intently listen to their stories and pray with them. These table times were my favorite part of the school, and I thank the Lord for the opportunity to be present in these ladies lives during this time of discipleship. Presence is sometimes the greatest way to love another. It does a heart good to have someone on the other end listening. Please pray for these ladies as they step into this next season of their lives. All are going in different directions, following the Lord in different ways. I believe this season at YWAM has truly made an impact and all three will be world changers in their own corners of the globe.
Doesn’t it feel good to be loved? I know firsthand when someone is present or notices and remembers me, my life in that moment is fuller. Not wanting to sound narcissitic here. I know it’s not all about “me,” but I do believe God has created us to love and be loved. There’s just something very special about people paying attention, noticing, and caring. I’ve been convicted lately about this, and I am asking the Lord to help me bear more abundantly His wonderful fruits of love and kindness.
Tis the season to be thankful, and you all our definitely at the top of our list. It’s comforting to know people are standing with us as we minister here in East Texas. We may not see your beautiful faces every day, but your prayers and support bless us richly. Just this week, we got a very special card from a friend that moved us to tears. Our lives are fuller because of you all.
All glory to Jesus! A synonym for the word fuller is complete. What a great word honestly because Jesus truly is the One who makes our lives complete! I just can’t imagine doing one day without Him. He is why I get out of the bed every morning. He is my joy. He is my song.
Happy Thanksgiving Dear Friends!
Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. (Psalm 118:1)
