Spring is upon us in Texas; although it feels like we just skipped right to summer. I miss experiencing all four seasons! Audrey has three days left of school. She’s had many final projects and exam reviews this week. I can honestly say her nose has barely been out of her books. I keep encouraging her to not give up. The end of the race is approaching, and oh how happy she’ll be once she crosses the finish line! Hard to believe summer break is upon us! She’s done really well this semester at CHS and looks forward to what the next school year will hold for her there. We are thankful to the Lord for helping her every step of the way.
My return trip to North Carolina went well. Emily underwent more tests on her lungs. Some of her test readings weren’t normal, and the doctor wasn’t sure of the exact cause or even how to treat. So, he decided it was best to continue reviewing her case and monitoring her lungs over the summer. She is currently feeling better than she has for a long time. We thank the Lord for this and are trusting Him to help us figure out her long term care. Emily will be working again this summer at Lake Junaluska, so for all of my Waynesville friends, be sure to give her a hug from time to time when you see her. Thanks to all who have been praying for her.
We are making plans to return to South Carolina/North Carolina in June. Please be praying for us as we finalize these plans. Traveling involves lots of added expenses, so we are asking God to equip us with all we need to make this trip. It’s important to us to have face to face time with our family and friends, who are our partners in ministry. Richard has been doing a lot on the YWAM campus which involves stewarding relationships with new people interested in our discipleship schools. We’ve learned the discipleship process doesn’t begin when students join a school on our campus. It begins from the first point of contact. Relationships involve nurture and care. As we’ve processed this for the ministry at YWAM Tyler, it’s also caused us to look inward at our own relationships with others. We know this time of connecting with others is needed and vitally important. We are asking God to guide our every step during this time.
Thanks for your continued prayers, encouragement, and support. We are thankful to our Lord for all He has done, is doing, and will do in our lives.
Let all that I am praise the Lord;
with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name.
Let all that I am praise the Lord;
may I never forget the good things he does for me. (Psalm 103:1-2)
Amy
