Unbreakable Spiritual Lifeline

In just two weeks, we will leave Waynesville.  Honestly, I’m beginning to feel like the main character in the emotion packed movie Inside Out.

With so many feelings whirling around inside, I’m really thankful God’s love is constant!  He is my bedrock that keeps me grounded.

We have sold pretty much all we have to sell and are now living out of our suitcases.  The YWAM School of Evangelism in Tyler, Texas begins January 3rd, 2016.  After spending some fun and memorable time with family at Christmas, we will start our road trip to the lone star state on December 30th, and I’m sure all these emotions will be in tow.  However, we know God has said, “Go!”, so with full hearts, we will follow.

This morning I read this quote from Live, Love, Lead by Brian Houston,

“The Church of Jesus Christ around the globe must be committed to seeing lives changed, families strengthened, cities transformed, and future generations positioned to make a difference.  It is through this work that we have the opportunity to not only lift people’s lives but to introduce them to the saving reality of Jesus Christ.  What we have to offer–the wonderful, beautiful name of Jesus–is far beyond and more precious than any silver or gold.”

Richard and I are committed to going and making disciples of Jesus Christ.  We know no other love like His.  We know no other healing and transforming power like His.  There is no one like Jesus, and we are committed to know Him and make Him known in this world.  Yesterday at church, we celebrated the first Sunday of Advent by reflecting on the theme of hope.  In my quiet time this morning, I read these words from Hebrews 6:18-20 (TM),

“We who have run for our very lives to God have every reason to grab the promised hope with both hands and never let go. It’s an unbreakable spiritual lifeline, reaching past all appearances right to the very presence of God where Jesus, running on ahead of us, has taken up his permanent post as high priest for us, in the order of Melchizedek.”

Hope is an unbreakable spiritual lifeline that leads us right to the very presence of God where Jesus has taken up His permanent post as high priest for us.  What a powerful truth this is!  The future may not be certain, my emotions may be all over the place, but my hope in God is an unbreakable spiritual lifeline leading me right to Jesus Christ. This makes me want to bust out and sing exuberantly, “My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus’ name. On Christ the solid Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.  All other ground is sinking sand!” Amen! It just doesn’t get any better than that!

Thank you to all who are praying for us.  Please continue to pray that we will finish well here in Waynesville.  In this season of saying goodbye to dear friends and family, please pray we will continue to grab hold with both hands and never let go of the HOPE found in Jesus Christ.

You are loved!

Amy
